| It was a strange but true feature of designing record albums that the most exciting projects were for unknown acts. Usually these consisted of kids making their first record, thrilled to the core to be taken seriously, inclined to love whatever you came up with. In contrast to the ones you did for the stars, who frequently had approval rights written into their contracts and "a brother-in-law who's a very talented photographer"- or some such major impediment to your work. Who were "The Waters"? I hardly recall, but I'm nuts about those paints oozing off those brushes. |
